On the seventh anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, I was fortunate to attend the Pentagon Memorial Dedication. There was a program in the morning that included reading all the names and a moment of silence, but I was at a training in the office so I wasn't able to be there. In the evening, though, I was able to make it to a concert by the Navy Band and the Sea Chanters Chorus. The music was very patriotic, and I was reminded of the great sense of national pride and unity we all felt shortly after that tragic day seven years ago.
I ran into a few friends at the memorial, made some new friends, and had good discussions about our experiences on 9/11 and the blessings of living in the U.S., which I think lines up well with what the memorial is designed to do.
